Disability Intermediaries Australia Limited has announced that Rachel Jones has been appointed as Operations & Policy Officer at Disability Intermediaries Australia Limited.

Rachel commenced her career applying evidence-based interventions and stakeholder engagement in client-facing roles for state government agencies in NSW, before taking on research and senior roles in the not-for-profit sector in Victoria. A champion of best practice, recently Rachel has been focusing on operations, governance and compliance in complex service environments, successfully rolling out pilot programs and creating practical tools, processes and standards to embed best practice in service platforms.

On Rachel’s appointment Mr Jess Harper, CEO Disability Intermediaries Australia Limited, said:

“Rachel possesses a deep understanding of policy settings and research approaches within social services as well as strong knowledge of disability support. I look forward to working with Rachel who is committed to supporting people with disability and their families through the sector development of plan management and support coordination.”

Rachel holds a Graduate Diploma of Psychological Science, Bachelor of Social Science, and qualifications in Training & Assessment, Correctional Practice and Business Administration. She said she is looking forward to helping support DIA member organisations effectively engage with the NDIS and provide outstanding services to participants.

On her appointment Rachel said:

“I’m excited to have an opportunity to contribute to development of standards across the disability intermediaries sector… I look forward to developing and collating practical resources in consultation with DIA members to continue the essential work they are doing supporting NDIS participants, as well as contributing to consistency and collaboration across the sector.”

Rachel commenced with Disability Intermediaries Australia Limited on 18th January 2021.
