Latest COVID-19 updates on PPE funding and vaccination roll-out

PPE Funding

NDIA has introduced temporary changes to allow providers and participants to claim the costs for Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) in affected areas of Western Australia and Victoria.

The changes have been made to support participants in response to the latest COVID-19 cases, and will take effect as follows:

  • restricted areas of WA – 31 January to 5 February 2021
  • NSW and Victoria – 29 July 2020 to 28 February 2021

NDIS service providers can access a workforce supply service during the COVID-19 pandemic – available nationally until Sunday 14 February 2021.

Reminder!

Providers need to notify the Quality and Safeguards Commission about COVID-19 infections and service changes.

Registered NDIS providers must notify the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission using the COVID-19 notification of event form if there are changes to the supports you provide to NDIS participants, including a temporary cease of services or change to how services are provided. You must also notify the NDIS Commission of any confirmed case of COVID-19 of an NDIS participants or a worker.

Vaccinations

The Australian Government remain committed to the COVID-19 vaccination roll out to commence end of February 2021. Priority groups include:

  • Phase 1a – disability care workers and disability care residents
  • Phase 1b – people with disability
