Designing the new NDIS Navigator
We are introducing a new Navigator role to improve how people with disability, their families and carers connect with disability related supports and services.
The development of the Navigator is a Scheme Reforms initiative. The design of the role will be a gradual process as the Agency is committed to consulting and co-designing with participants and the disability sector on this important reform.
As yet, no decisions have been made about implementation or transition to the Navigator role. Any transition when it occurs will be measured and considered in the context of ongoing Scheme reforms.
We will keep you fully updated as the development of Navigator role progresses.
We want to ensure we get the changes right and transition to new arrangements in a careful and gradual way. Participant safety will be prioritised, and partners, providers, and the people they employ, will be supported as we transition to the new arrangements.
New planning framework
We are also currently planning for implementation of our new planning framework. We are co-designing what changes need to be considered for existing services to ensure participants are appropriately supported when the new planning framework commences.
This planning will include partners, plan managers and support coordinators who will continue to play an important role delivering support to participants.
